Gifting Georgia
Tis the season, and I thought I’d share a few of my favorite O’Keeffe goodies for your gift list, whether for friends, family, or yourself . . .
I love hand writing thank-you cards. These luscious letterpress cards from the O’Keeffe Museum capture the edgy wit of the artist I know so well from her archives.
Speaking of the archives, you too can experience the thrill of reading O’Keeffe’s letters. There are several books that compile her correspondence, and the one that deftly captures the artist-as-a-young-woman in west Texas is Georgia O’Keeffe’s Wartime Texas Letters, by Amy Von Lintel. (For more about the book, click here to read my review.)
I am susceptible to the eccentric objet’dart, and the last time I was at the O’Keeffe Museum shop I fell for a replica of the Buddha hand she had mounted in her bedroom in Abiquiu. Maybe you’ve seen it if you’ve toured the house. Click here for details.
